Our engineers
have worked with Rapid City Regional Hospital for over ten years.
During that time, they were involved in the mechanical and electrical
design of the 40,000 SF Cancer Care Institute, 70,000 SF Patient
Tower renovation, Power Plant expansion, 150,000 SF expansion/renovation,
Dialysis Unit, Same Day Surgery Center, PICU/NICU expansion/remodel,
and OB expansion/remodel.
In February
2003 Skyline Engineering was selected as mechanical and electrical
engineering consultants to implement the 6-year, $125 million

| Sturgis
Community Health Care Center - CT Scan Installation |
| |
A 512 square foot addition to the Sturgis Community Healthcare
Center was provided on a fast-track basis to accommodate the installation
of a new GE Medical HiSpeed XI Scanner. The CT scan (computerized
axial tomography scan) is an x-ray procedure combining many x-ray
images with the aid of a computer to generate cross-sectional
views and, if required, three-dimensional images of the internal
organs and structures of the body. |

Behavior
Management Center Addition |
| |
This design-build project involved a 13,500 square-foot 2-story
addition to the Behavior Management Center located in Rapid
City, South Dakota.
The lower
level of the addition is composed of a bedroom area, kitchen
area, dining facility, group therapy area, laundry area, offices,

| |
This project involved a HVAC study and system upgrade in the
4,500 square foot Dietetics / Kitchen of the VA Medical Center
in Hot Springs, South Dakota. The study focused on reducing
energy usage by economically upgrading the systems contained
within the facility.
System improvements
include the replacement of two Make-up Air Units, upgrade of
the HVAC pneumatic control to DDC, and upgrade of Kitchen Hood
control system.

VA
Medical Center - Main Stream Distribution System Study and Replacement |
| |
This project
involved a study and upgrades to a 50+ year old steam distribution
system throughout a 75 acre facility complex. The study identified
and prioritized critical areas for steam piping removal and
replacement. Both interior and buried exterior piping systems
were reviewed. The facility distributes part of its high pressure
steam through tunnels with the balance of the high pressure
system distributed through approximately 1000 feet of buried
piping.
Two projects
developed from this study; one to replace an interior low pressure
steam loop serving the hospital, and another to replace the
main buried exterior line between the steam tunnel and the hospital.
