The Historic Homestake
Gold Mine in Lead, South Dakota formerly processed the “fines”
from the milling process by extracting the last remaining bits
of gold at the Slime Plant located in Deadwood. This facility
has been remediated as part of Homestake’s reclamation
efforts and will soon be utilized as an entertainment complex,
changing the face of and function of Deadwood.
The facility
will consist of an Entertainment Area including Casinos, Theaters,
Restaurants, Kitchens, Dance Floor, and Bar/Food Service Centers.
The entertainment area will be two-story with balconies on the
second floor, have a rustic/industrial finish/theme and open
ceilings with exposed Mechanical and Electrical equipment. In
addition, the project will include a three-story 100 room hotel
and a two-level 266 stall parking garage.
